US: Woman dies as airplane hits lawnmower she was riding on runway

An airplane struck and killed a lady who was reportedly using a lawnmower at a small Oklahoma airport.

Throughout a flight to Damaged Bow Airport on Friday, Samantha Hayes, 27, was struck and killed by the wing of a 1972 Bananza A36.

James Baxter, the 70-year-old pilot of the airplane, was making ready to land at Damaged Bow Airport when he noticed Hayes within the subject on her mower.

Hayes was fatally struck within the head by the wing of the airplane after Baxter did not get the wing over her, in line with the Oklahoma Freeway Patrol.

Hayes was pronounced lifeless on the scene of the accident after struggling head accidents. Though Damaged Bow Airport has no air visitors management, it’s unclear whether or not Hayes labored there.

Fb customers described Hayes as a single mom and a loyal pal. ‘Samantha Hayes was a wonderful great mom to her 3 babies! She was a single mom who worked hard to give them a safe and loving home! These babies knew they were loved everyday all day!’ wrote Darlene Tadleigh, a pal.

Baxter, the pilot, was not injured. The FAA has no age limits for folks to fly planes, although business airways are banned from using anybody over the age of 65.

No additional info has been revealed about Baxter and no prices have been filed towards him.

The Oklahoma division of public security is but to reply on the incident as a investigation is underway.
