A house on Clayton Ave in Ōtara was shot up on Monday night.

Two more reports of guns being fired on Auckland streets are being probed, less than 24 hours after homes in Northland and south Auckland were shot up.

A police spokesperson confirmed they had received reports just before 6.30pm of a gun being shot in Caspar Rd in Papatoetoe.

The spokesperson said police were also investigating a gun being shot on Bairds Rd in Ōtara, also on Tuesday evening.

No one had been injured in either of the incidents, the spokesperson said, and police remained at the scene on Caspar Rd.

Bairds Rd was cordoned off for some time following the incident and Auckland Transport said it was closed between Preston Rd and Ingram Crescent.

Earlier on Tuesday, it was reported houses and cars were shot up overnight in Kaikohe and South Auckland as gang tensions rose.

Police said they received reports of shots heard in the Kaikohe area around 4.25am on Tuesday, but no injuries were reported at the time.

Stuff understands a car load of gang members drove through residential areas in the north-east of the Northland township, shooting at a number of cars and houses in the area.

It’s believed to be part of ongoing tensions between the Tribesmen and Killer Beez gangs, which have escalated in the past week and are linked to other conflict between the two groups in Auckland.

Shots were also fired at a house in Clayton Ave, Ōtara, on Monday evening, leaving the house with several broken windows.

On Sunday night a house on Phoenix Place in Papatoetoe was also peppered in bullets, with a enighbour describing the situation as a “nightmare”, while a shooting on Saturday evening in Red Hill allegedly left 44 bullet casings on a driveway.

Police announced in early May the launch of a six-month-long operation to crackdown on gangs across the country, following the major shift in the gang landscape since the arrival of hundreds of hardened criminals from Australia.
