Hamas has shown itself to be enemy of civilisation: Israel’s Netanyahu tells US State Secretary Blinken

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu mentioned that US State Secretary Antony Blinken’s go to to the war-torn nation is one other instance of “America’s unequivocal support for Israel.”

Blinken reached Tel Aviv earlier in the present day following which he held conferences with the Israeli chief and prolonged solidarity to Israel after the Islamic militant organisation Hamas launched an all-out offensive in opposition to it on Saturday (7 October).

“Mr Secretary, your visit is another tangible example of America’s unequivocal support for Israel. Hamas has shown itself to be an enemy of civilisation,” Netanyahu mentioned in a joint press briefing with Blinken.

He added, “The massacring of young people at an outdoor music festival, the butchering of entire families, the murder of parents in front of their children and the murder of children in front of their parents, the burning of people alive, the beheadings, the kidnappings…the sickening display of celebrating these horrors, the celebration and glorification of evil – President Biden was absolutely correct in calling this sheer evil.”

“Antony, my friend. I say to you, I say to all of us. There will be many difficult days ahead. But I have no doubt that the forces of civilisation will win. The reason that is true is because we understand what is the first prerequisite of victory – moral clarity. This is a time that we must stand tall, proud and united against evil…” the Israeli prime minister continued.

In the meantime, Blinken mentioned, “I come before you not only as the United States Secretary of State, but also as a Jew. My grandfather fled pogroms in Russia. My stepfather survived concentration camps, Auschwitz…So, I understand on a personal level harrowing echoes that the Hamas’ massacres carry for Israeli Jews and indeed for Jews everywhere.”

Throughout his go to, Blinken held a gathering with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Brigadier Common Gal Hirsch and different Israeli officers. After concluding his go to to Israel, Blinken will meet with Jordan’s King Abdullah and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas Abbas in Amman.
