Uber will now show drivers the destination before accepting rides

Tired of Uber drivers cancelling the ride upon asking your destination? It happens quite frequently, leaving you stranded waiting for a ride home or office. Well, not anymore, as the cab-aggregator Uber has brought in new measures to curb cancellations.
After dozens of complaints from customers and even drivers, Uber has implemented new rules to address the issues both riders and drivers have complained about.
Several customers across the metropolitan cities in the country have complained about drivers cancelling the ride soon after asking them their destination or not turning on the air conditioner in the scorching heat, or even sometimes asking for extra charges to turn on the air conditioner in the cab. Meanwhile, drivers have spoken about the unsatisfactory earnings amidst the rising fuel prices in the country.
To solve the problem of drivers cancelling the rides, Uber will now show the destination to drivers to decide if they want to go or not before accepting the ride instead of cancelling the ride after asking the rider for their drop location. The company says that the feature is already live in 20 cities and will be rolled out in more cities in the coming days.
Most of the cab drivers in the country prefer getting paid in cash, so you might come across an instance where the driver must have asked if the mode of payment is online or in cash. This is because cab aggregators take a handful of time to release the payment to drivers. Thus, drivers ask for the payment to be made in cash because they will have money in their hands. Or, if the mode of payment is online, the driver either cancels the ride or asks riders to cancel the ride and pay him whatever amount was shown in the app in cash.
Uber thought over this and has changed how a driver gets paid. The ride-hailing app will now show drivers the mode of payment, showing whether the fare would be paid in cash or the customer has selected to pay the amount through a card or any other online payment method. Also, If a driver goes ahead with the online mode of payment, they will be paid daily from Monday to Thursday, and from Friday to Sunday, their earnings will get credited to their account on Monday.
Also, Uber says that the company will speak with drivers to maintain the quality of service during the ride to reduce cancellations and defer drivers from asking for extra money for any service, including turning on air conditioning in the cabs.
Meanwhile, Uber has also increased the fare by an average of 10-15 per cent in the country amidst the rising fuel prices. Also, the company will pay drivers an incentive for accepting rides far from their current locations, which in turn will also reduce the number of cancellations.
