Google’s first in-house smartwatch – the Pixel Watch – will arrive later this year. The Pixel Watch has already been seen in the wild and has been doing enough rounds on the internet for some time. Now, the Pixel Watch has surfaced on the certification site FCC, and the listing suggests that the upcoming smartwatch will come in three different variants.
As per the FCC listing, there will be three variants of the upcoming Pixel Watch. There is one model – GQF4C – with WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, and the other two – GBZ4S and GWT9R – come with support for LTE connectivity. However, the GBZ4S comes with support for 3 LTE bands – LTE B5, B7, and B26, while the GWT9R supports 10 LTE bands – LTE B2, B4, B5, B12, B13, B17, B25, B26, B66, B71. The GW9TR is expected to be made available in the USA, while we can expect GBZ4S to launch in other markets except for the United States.
We also learned that Compal Electronics would be manufacturing the Pixel Watch. Taiwan’s Compal Electronics has been manufacturing the Apple Watch for years now. Further, according to the FCC, Compal will also manufacture the Pixel Watch charging cable. The charging cable for the Pixel Watch would be the usual magnetic puck type charger, but unlike other chargers, this one would come with a USB-C connector.
As we know, the Pixel Watch is expected to be powered by Exynos 9110 chipset from 2018. However, it might also feature a co-processor, likely the Cortex-M33 co-processor for better power efficiency. Furthermore, the upcoming smartwatch from Google is rumoured to come with 1.5GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage.
