google: Google Assistant receives support for Fitbit and Google Fit stats
Google Assistant has received support for users’ Fitbit and Google Fit stats. Recently, there were reports about the Nest Hub getting deeper integration with Google Fit and Fitbit. According to a report by 9to5Google, the settings to connect Google Fit and Fitbit to Google Assistant started rolling out last week and now it is expected to be available more widely. However, it is important to note that users can pair both Google Fit and Fitbit but only one service can be active at a time and it’s easy to disconnect as well.
How to access Google Fit and Fitbit stats from Google Assistant?
To access the Google Fit and Fitbit stats from Google Assistant, users have to open their device’s Assistant settings have to select the Wellness option. Here, users can tap on the: Activity option to start the process.

Users can ask the Google Assistant either on their phones (both iOS and Android) or their Nest Hub as the report suggests that it works on all Google Smart Displays. The results on both form factors are shown with cards that have an accompanying icon and “Data from” line. Google Assistant will also mention that the data is “based on your last sync.” In the case of smart displays, none of this data appears proactively, however, this issue can be solved with a future update. Moreover, the 2nd-gen Nest Hub supports a Wellness tab that shows sleep-related cards, including stats and tips.
These changes occur even before Fitbit gets better integrated across Google devices. Additionally, the Pixel Watch will be released in the fall while Sleep Sensing on the Nest Hub (2nd gen) is also expected to work with Fitbit Premium soon. In other news, Google has reached a temporary agreement with Match Group for in-app payments. Click here to know more.
