The Uttar Pradesh authorities on Saturday banned the sale of halal-certified merchandise after Lucknow police booked some organisations for offering cast certificates to retailers.
“In the interest of public health, production, storing, distribution and sale of halal certified edible items banned in Uttar Pradesh with immediate effect,” the official order said.

The transfer comes after Lucknow police on Friday registered a case towards an organization and some different organisations for allegedly exploiting individuals’s non secular sentiments to spice up gross sales by offering cast halal certificates.
In line with a separate UP authorities decree, prescription drugs, medical devices, and beauty objects bearing halal-certified labelling would face authorized motion.
