A suspected narcotic smuggler was injured after Military troops opened hearth on observing suspicious motion alongside the Line of Management (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, officers mentioned on Sunday. The suspected smuggler was arrested and a packet of narcotics, believed to be heroin which he was attempting to smuggle, was recovered from his possession, the officers mentioned.
They mentioned the incident occurred late Saturday evening when troops guarding the LoC noticed suspicious motion of an individual at Karmara within the Gulpur sector and challenged him.
Nevertheless, the suspected smuggler tried to flee throughout the LoC and was fired upon, the officers mentioned, figuring out him as Yasir Nazir, a neighborhood resident who acknowledged he had gone throughout the LoC to gather a narcotics consignment. Nazir has been hospitalised for the therapy of bullet accidents beneath police custody, the officers mentioned.
