Police on Monday detained some college students as they tried to carry a protest close to the Israeli embassy right here in assist of Palestine, officers stated.
Scores of scholars from JNU, Jamia Millia Islamia and Delhi College had gathered to participate within the protest. Police had erected barricades to cease them from reaching the embassy at Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Street.
When a few of the college students tried to march in the direction of the embassy, they have been detained as they didn’t have the required permission to carry the protest, stated a police officer, including that “no one was allowed to violate law and order”. The scholars have been protesting in assist of Palestine and attempting to succeed in the Israeli embassy when the police motion came about, the officers stated.
