The Narmada River has been working past the hazard stage between Bharuch and Ankleshwar stations in Gujarat, halting practice motion on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad route for about 11 hours since Sunday evening, Western Railway acknowledged on Monday.
The practice motion between Bharuch and Ankleshwar stations on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad line was halted as Narmada River waters rose over the hazard mark at brigade no. 502 at about 11:50 p.m. on Sunday, in line with Western Railway’s Chief PRO Sumit Thakur.
He acknowledged that the river water stage remains to be over the hazard mark, even though it has begun to recede.
“All the passenger and goods trains on both ends of the river have been held up due to the flood. Arrangements are being made to provide refreshments, tea, and water to the passengers stranded on trains,” he added.
In accordance with our estimates, the water stage might fall beneath the hazard mark after a few hours, Thakur stated.
“Helpline numbers have been set up to assist passengers to get train-related information,” he added.
In accordance with a Western Railway announcement, no less than one-and-a-half dozen trains, together with the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Tejas Categorical and the Shatabdi Categorical, have been cancelled owing to the water.
In accordance with authorities, heavy rain battered varied areas of Gujarat on Sunday, flooding low-lying areas and shutting off quite a few villages because the Narmada and different rivers had been at full movement.
