ED arrests Lalu Prasad’s ‘associate’ Amit Katyal in connection to land-for-job scam

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested Amit Katyal, an alleged affiliate of RJD chief Lalu Prasad and his son Tejashwi Yadav, in connection to the ‘land-for-job’ rip-off case.

Katyal was detained by the ED on Friday after a number of hours of questioning and might be produced earlier than a neighborhood courtroom the place the company will search his custody for interrogation.

Sources stated Katyal was evading the company’s summons for questioning for about two months.

The Delhi Excessive Court docket had just lately rejected his plea to quash the ED summons in opposition to him on this case.

Katyal’s residence was raided in March by ED together with the premises of Lalu Prasad, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, his sisters and others.

In line with ED, Katyal is a ‘close associate’ of Lalu Prasad and his son Tejasvi and can be a former director of A Okay Infosystems Personal Restricted.

A Okay Infosystems Personal Restricted is allegedly a “beneficiary company” within the case and its registered tackle is a residential constructing in south Delhi’s New Pals Colony, which was being utilized by Tejashwi Yadav.

The alleged rip-off pertains to the interval when Prasad was the railway minister within the UPA-1 authorities.
