Delhi Police asks Meta to provide URL of account used to share actor Rashmika Mandanna’s deep fake video

Delhi Police has written to Meta to supply the URL of the account that shared the ‘deep fake’ video of actor Rashmika Mandanna on social media.

The transfer comes a day after police filed an FIR in connection to the case.

In line with an officer, the Delhi Police has additionally sought the knowledge of the individuals who shared the pretend video on social media.

“We have written to Meta to access the URL ID of the account from which the video was generated,” an officer aware of the investigations instructed PTI.

The police have registered an FIR underneath sections 465 (forgery) and 469 (forgery for objective of harming status) of the Indian Penal Code and sections 66C and 66E of the Info Know-how Act on the Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations Unit of the Delhi Police’s Particular Cell.

The police officer added {that a} devoted crew of officers has been assigned to trace down the perpetrators. “We are expecting the case will be cracked soon,” the officer stated.
