Congress leader Naseem Khan writes to PM Modi, urges him to suspend bilateral trade with Israel

Amid Israel-Hamas conflict, former Maharashtra minister and senior Congress chief Naseem Khan has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging him to stand with Palestine from a humanitarian standpoint and demanded that India ought to instantly cease all bilateral commerce with Israel.

Deeply disturbed by the deaths of harmless residents within the Gaza Strip, in a two-page letter, Khan stated, “Indian government should immediately condemn inhuman bombarding on Gaza (Plaestine) which is killing thousands of innocent people and making them homeless.”

“Right from Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Lal Bahadur Shastri, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, Atal Bihari Vajpayee to Dr Manmohan Singh, the Indian government has had very good relationship with the Palestinian leadership and people of Palestine and we have always stood with them in the hours of need on humanitarian ground,” he added.

He additional stated that India ought to instantly cease all bilateral commerce with Israel to help sentiments of peace loving individuals of India as a protest towards the oppression completed by Israel.

“Until and unless the Israel government does not stop this inhuman and cruel act, the Government of India should immediately stop all bilateral trade with Israel to support the sentiments of peace loving people of India,” he added.

Speaking concerning the humanitarian disaster in Gaza, he stated that the United Nations too has expressed concern over the scarcity of meals, medicines and reduction materials in Gaza Strip. “India needs to help them at this time of crisis considering our historic relationship,” he stated.

Khan’s letter comes a day after the Al-Ahli Arab Hospital bombing in Palestine, which has left a number of hundred individuals lifeless.

Khan stated that to this point the Israel-Hamas conflict has claimed over 3,000 lives and left over 10,000 injured.
