Choppers evacuate stranded tourists from North Sikkim for second day

The evacuation of stranded vacationers from Lachen and Lachung in North Sikkim was resumed by the armed forces on Tuesday with the climate remaining clear for the second day, officers stated.

Round 95 stranded individuals had been introduced from Lachung and Lachen by choppers. The primary group from Lachung included 17 vacationers and two locals of Lachung village. The choppers made two sorties to the world within the morning. These from Lachung had been being delivered to Pakyong Airport close to Gangtok.
