The Union Cupboard on Friday granted approval to designate the Ayodhya airport as ‘Maharishi Valmiki International Airport, Ayodhyadham.’

Moreover, in the course of the Cupboard assembly chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a choice was made to confer worldwide airport standing upon it.

The inauguration of the airport happened on December 30, with Modi officiating the occasion.

“The airport’s name ‘Maharishi Valmiki International Airport, Ayodhyadham’ pays homage to Maharishi Valmiki, the sage attributed to composing the epic Ramayana, adding a cultural touch to the airport’s identity,” an official launch mentioned.

In line with the discharge, elevating the Ayodhya airport to worldwide standing is paramount for realising Ayodhya’s financial potential and its significance as a worldwide pilgrimage website, opening doorways to international pilgrims and vacationers.

“Ayodhya, with its deep cultural roots is strategically positioned to develop into a key financial hub and pilgrimage website.

“The airport’s potential to attract international pilgrims and businesses aligns with the city’s historical prominence,” the discharge mentioned.
