Cabinet approves process for setting up of Sammakka Sarakka Central Tribal University in Telangana

The Union Cupboard on Wednesday gave its approval to the amending of the Central Universities Act, 2019 for establishing of Sammakka Sarakka Central Tribal College at Mulugu district of Telangana.

The brand new college will enhance entry, enhance the standard of upper training within the state and promote avenues of upper training in addition to advance information by offering tutorial and analysis services in tribal artwork, tradition and conventional information system for the advantage of the tribal inhabitants within the state, the federal government stated.

“The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave its approval for introduction in Parliament, a bill, namely, the Central Universities (Amendment), Bill, 2023 further to amend the Central Universities Act, 2009 for setting up of Sammakka Sarakka Central Tribal University at Mulugu district in the state of Telangana as provided in the Thirteenth Schedule to the Andhra Pradesh Re-organisation Act, 2014,” an official assertion stated.

“This new university will also create additional capacity and will strive to remove regional imbalances,” it added.

On Sunday, PM Modi had introduced establishing of the college in Telangana, an assurance talked about within the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act.

The college is being named after tribal goddesses Samakka and Sarakka.
