A BSF jawan succumbed to accidents sustained on Thursday in unprovoked firing by Pakistan Rangers alongside the Worldwide Border (IB) within the Ramgarh sector of Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba district.
The Border Safety Forces (BSF) jawan suffered accidents and was evacuated to an area hospital. He was later moved to the GMC Hospital in Jammu, the officers stated.
The jawan succumbed to accidents, a report by PTI quoted an official as saying.

“During night intervening 8/9 Nov 2023, Pakistan Rangers resorted to unprovoked firing in Ramgarh area which was befittingly responded to by BSF troops,” the BSF stated in a press release.
The firing focusing on Border Outposts within the district is the third ceasefire violation in 24 days by Pakistan Rangers alongside the IB within the Jammu frontier.
Ramgarh Group Well being Centre Block Medical Officer (BMO) Dr Lakhwinder Singh stated one BSF jawan was injured in Pakistani firing and reported to the centre for remedy round 1 am.
Mohan Singh Bhatti of Jerda village stated that the firing began round 12.20 am and later escalated into shelling. “A fear psychosis is prevailing along the IB due to firing and shelling,” he stated.
On October 28, Pakistan Rangers indulged in heavy firing and shelling for round seven hours, leading to accidents to 2 BSF jawans and a girl.
On October 17, two BSF personnel had been injured in unprovoked firing by the rangers within the Arnia sector.
It’s the sixth general violation because the two sides signed a ceasefire settlement on February 25, 2021.
