Before ‘White Paper’ on UPA-era economy, Congress strikes with ‘Black Paper’ on Modi govt

With the BJP all set to launch a ‘White Paper’ highlighting the achievements of the Modi authorities within the final 10 years, Congress on Thursday issued a black paper noting the present authorities’s failure.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge launched a ‘Black Paper’ titled 10 Saal Anyay Kaal at a press convention in New Delhi.

Congress’ transfer comes hours forward of BJP’s plan to launch a ‘White Paper’ on the prolonged session of the Parliament on 8 February.

What does the ‘Black Paper’ say?

Congress’ ‘Black Paper’ particulars the rise of unemployment, farmers’ misery and value hikes.

“We are raising the main issue of unemployment, which the BJP never talks about…There is discrimination being done with non-BJP states like Kerala, Karnataka, Telangana,” Kharge stated.

He added, “There is a danger to democracy in the country…In the last 10 years, 411 MLAs were taken on by the BJP. They toppled so many Congress governments. They are putting an end to democracy.”

Kharge additionally attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for invoking former prime ministers Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi throughout his speech on the Parliament earlier this week.

“It was Modi’s guarantee to provide 2 crore jobs and ensure MSP to farmers and now the prime minister should say he could not do it but instead he has come up with new guarantees,” he stated.

BJP reacts to ‘Black Paper’

PM Modi, throughout his reply to the Movement of Thanks in Rajya Sabha, took a jibe at Congress after it launched the ‘Black Paper.’

He stated, “Nazar na lage isliye Kharge kala paper lekar aaye hain…desh ko nazar na lage to kale teeke ke liye congress ka aabhar”

In the meantime, Union Minister Anurag Thakur stated, “While Modi’s guarantees have passed, Congress’ guarantees in every state are failing…Congress is restless to see how Modi ji gave a corruption-free government.”

What’s a ‘White Paper’?

The federal government on Wednesday prolonged the Parliament session by a day to launch a ‘white paper’ highlighting the expansion of India’s economic system from 2014 to 2024.

It is very important word that that is the Parliament’s final session earlier than Lok Sabha elections start.

“White paper was part of the interim budget presented by our Finance Minister. The economic situation that Congress had put India through in 2014, needs to be mentioned… The subject of the White Paper will be in discussion today,” BJP MP Arjun Ram Meghwal stated.
