ABVP’s Tushar Dedha elected president of Delhi University Students Union (DUSU), defeats NSUI’s Hitesh Gulia: Officials

ABVP’s Tushar Dedha has been elected as president of the Delhi College College students Union (DUSU).

The voter turnout in 2019 — when the elections have been final held — was 39.90 per cent. The turnouts in 2018 and 2017 have been 44.46 per cent and 42.8 per cent, respectively.

Twenty-four candidates have been within the fray for the elections.

The RSS-affiliated Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Congress college students’ wing Nationwide College students’ Union of India (NSUI), CPI(M)-backed College students’ Federation of India (SFI) and the CPI(ML)-Liberation-linked All India College students’ Affiliation (AISA) fielded candidates for all 4 central posts.

The ABVP gained three of the 4 seats within the 2019 elections.

The DUSU is the primary consultant physique for many faculties and schools. Every school additionally has its personal college students’ union, elections to that are held yearly.

This can be a growing story.
