As many as 36 persons are feared trapped inside a tunnel in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand after the underneath building construction collapsed on Sunday.
The tunnel that’s meant to attach Silkyara to Dandalgaon on the Brahmakhal-Yamunotri Nationwide Freeway in Uttarkashi is being constructed underneath the Char Dham Street Challenge with an purpose to cut back the journey from Uttarkashi to Yamunotri Dham by 26 kilometres.

“In Silkyara Tunnel, a part of the tunnel has broken about 200 meters ahead of the starting point. According to the officials of HIDCL, which is looking after the construction work of the tunnel, about 36 people are trapped in the tunnel and efforts are being made to rescue them safely,” Uttarkashi SP Arpan Yaduvanshi stated.
Police drive, Nationwide Catastrophe Response Power (NDRF) and State Catastrophe Response Fund (SDRF) staff are current on the spot, Yaduvanshi stated, including that, “Till now no casualty has been reported. We will soon rescue all the people safely.”

So after getting the knowledge of tunnel collapse in Uttarakhand’s Uttarkashi, SDRF groups have been rushed to the spot to hold out rescue operations.
“Information was received from the District Control Room, Uttarkashi that 36 people are feared to be trapped in the tunnel which collapsed. On the information, Commander SDRF, Manikant Mishra immediately directed SDRF rescue teams under the leadership of Inspector Jagdamba Vijalwan to leave for the spot with necessary rescue equipment. After reaching the spot, SDRF is carrying out relief and rescue work on a war footing in coordination with other rescue units,” SDRF stated.
The District Justice of the Peace and the Superintendent of Police, Uttarkashi district are on the spot. SDRF, and Police Income groups are additionally current on the spot for reduction work.
