Amid the disaster in Israel after Hamas’ assault, many celebrities from India and throughout the globe have expressed their concern and outrage. Going a step forward, as many as 55 Hollywood personalities have signed an open letter to the U.S. president Joe Biden calling for a ceasefire between Israel and Gaza.
What does the letter learn?
“We ask that, as President of the United States, you call for an immediate de-escalation and ceasefire in Gaza and Israel before another life is lost,” it reads. “More than 5,000 people have been killed in the last week and a half – a number any person of conscience knows is catastrophic. We believe all life is sacred, no matter faith or ethnicity and we condemn the killing of Palestinian and Israeli civilians.”
The letter was put out by Artists 4 Ceasefire Group.
The open letter added, “Beyond our pain and mourning for all of the people there and their loved ones around the world we are motivated by an unbending will to stand for our common humanity. We stand for freedom, justice, dignity and peace for all people – and a deep desire to stop more bloodshed. We refuse to tell future generations the story of our silence, that we stood by and did nothing.”
Lior Raz takes on the frontlines
Fauda star Lior Raz had taken to the entrance strains and joined the volunteering group referred to as ‘Brothers in Arms’. He had the corporate of president of the Israel Democracy Institute Yohanan Plesner and journalist Avi Yissascharov. He even shared a video with followers on X.
The actor, whereas sharing the video on his social media account, wrote- “Accompanied by Yohanan Plesner @yplesnerand Avi @issacharoff, I headed down south to join hundreds of brave “brothers in arms” volunteers who labored tirelessly to help the inhabitants within the south of Israel. We had been despatched to the bombarded city of Sderot to extract 2 households.”
