The federal government hiked particular extra excise responsibility (SAED) on crude petroleum to Rs 10,000 per tonne from immediately.

Within the final fortnightly assessment on September 1, windfall tax on domestically produced crude oil was set at Rs 6,700/tonne.

Moreover, the SAED or responsibility on export of diesel shall be lower to Rs 5.50/litre, from Rs 6/litre at the moment.

The responsibility on jet gasoline or ATF shall be diminished to Rs 3.5/litre from Rs 4/litre at the moment.

SAED on petrol will proceed at nil. India first imposed windfall revenue taxes on July 1, 2022.
